Traveling took center stage for me in 2016, and I was fortunate enough to visit some truly special places both near and far. The year’s top highlights were Raleigh, Denver, and, of course, Tanzania, where I have friends who double as some of the greatest hosts you could ever imagine.

I spent some time skipping down the beaches of Surf City, a weekend touring the hippest bars and restaurants in Denver, and two weeks exploring the Serengeti in a Land Rover.
